Size and adjustment of the snath
The size and adjustment of the snath are crucial for comfortable mowing. Ideally, the snath should be adjusted precisely for the scyther so that he or she does not have to correct the position of the scythe blade relative to the ground (more information here). When mowing, the scyther should be able to maintain a relatively upright position with relaxed shoulders.
If the snath allows for handle height adjustment, adjust them according to the accompanying illustrations. If you are purchasing a snath with fixed handles, pay particular attention to the height of the lower handle. The lower handle should be at the height of your hip joint.
It is ideal to try out the snath and test your posture with the scythe attached to make sure it is comfortable for you.

Lower handle - stand next to the snath, bend your leg. The lower handle should be at the height of your hip joint.

The upper handle should be at least the length of your forearm away from the lower handle.
