The peening course will teach you how to peen your scythe so that you can truly enjoy mowing. You will try out several peening methods in practice and decide for yourself which one is right for you. In addition to peening, you will learn how to repair damaged blades and get lots of other tips and advice on how to care for your scythe.
Mowing with a perfectly sharp scythe is really easy and fun. But what do you do when, even after repeated honing with a whetstone, your scythe no longer cuts through dewy grass, but only bites into individual tufts?
It's time to peen!
What every scyther once mastered is now becoming a hidden stone in the grass that everyone will sooner or later come across when mowing. In our course, you will try out various methods of peening a scythe (wide anvil, narrow peening anvil, peening jig) and choose the technique that suits you best. In addition, you will learn how to deal with minor damage to the blade and get lots of other tips and advice.

Equipment:
We will provide all necessary tools, hammers, peening anvils and practice scythes for each participant. If you are interested, you can bring your own scythes, which you can peen yourself under the supervision of the instructor.
